Introduction - The Problem

I was a magic client for about four years. A good experience overall, but I never really enjoyed using their app, it just didn’t look trustworthy. For some reason, the design always made me think about those pop-up ads you’d get surfing the internet in the 2000’s.

It gives the feeling of untrustworthy and cheap. When making an appointment, the process is a bit unusual and you can see the prices of the services you want only at the end of the process, which can be a bit annoying. There is a reviewing system but it only uses stars, written reviews from the clients are not an option, unfortunately. Also, you can't make an appointment without signing up, which can also be improved.

That being said, I’ve decided to take it into my own hands and redesign the app to a more sleek, luxurious and appropriate for the theme design. I also want to make an UI that would make the process seamless.

Design

My goal, design-wise, was achieving a more modern, clean look for the app, as well as for the brand identity, including colors, fonts, style.

For the logo, I went for a serif customized font, the small sparkle in the middle of the letter “g” esspecially for the luxurious, modern, more serious, professional look,  also mentaining closeness to the idea of “magic”.
